Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada police arrested seven persons in connection with the double murder at Farangipete in Bantwal on the night of September 25.

According to SP Sudheer Kumar Reddy, old rivalry is said to be the reason for the attack. The police are on look out for others involved in the attack as well as planning of the murder.

The arrested are Deal Naufal alias Naufal (25), Amir Sohail (24), Mohammed Fazul (25), Adram (29), Michcha (24), Taslim (24) and Arshad (24).

Two persons were killed and three suffered injuries in a gang war at Farangipete in Bantwal taluk.

The dead have been identified Zia, a resident of Adyarkatte and Fayaz alias Payya of Adyar Birpugudde. The injured are Fazal, Hameez and Mushtaq.
