Siddapur: A xerox machine, books, bakery items, newspapers and Rs 10,000 and other things valued at Rs 2 lakh were turned to cinders when the shop belonging to Totappa Muddappa Nyasanagi caught fire, on Thursday night, near Siddapur Bus Stand.

The incident occurred after the owner had shut the shop following Laxmi pooja on Thursday night, The police patrolling staff noticing smoke coming out of the shop at night, informed the owners as also the fire personnel, who arrived to douse fire and bring the situation under control, sources said.
