Kumta: In a gruesome road accident that happened in between car and a police crane on Divgi NH-66 on the outskirts of the town, a woman was killed on the spot, while three others sustained multiple injuries. The incident took place in the morning at around 9:30 AM.

The deceased woman has been identified as Aasiya (45), whereas the injured victims are Sameer, Azhar and Mansur. All said to be the residents of Kannur of Kerala state.

According to the sources, the accident happened when the car was on the way towards Goa from Kerala, while the Crane was in the opposite direction. Both had an head on collision. The impact of collision was such that a woman passenger in the car received critical head injuries and succumbed on the spot. The other injured victims have been taken to Udupi hospital for advanced treatment after giving initial treatments at Kumta government hospital.

A case has been registered in Kumta police station.
