Karwara: Karwar educational district secured second spot in the state with a pass a percentage of 88.12 in SSLC examination results. Last year, it was fifth place. But Sirsi education district, which was in fourth place last year, has fallen to 21st position this year.
In Karwar educational district of the 8,942 students who appeared for the exams, 7,880 have passed (84.67 per cent boys and 91.49 per cent girls). As usual girls are the district toppers.
Five taluks come under Karwar educational district. of which, karwar taluk stood first with 89.75 per cent, Honnavar came second with 89.27 per cent and Kumta secured third spot with 88.53 pass percentage.
Seven taluks come under Sirsi educational district. Last year, the total pass percentage in the district was 80.09 and this year it has come down to 78.06 percentage.
