Karwar: Students told to cast their votes compulsorily

Karwar: "Voting plays a vital role in building a strong nation. Hence, eligible voters should exercise their votes compulsorily", said Government Arts & Science Degree College Principal Kalpana Keravadikar.

She was speaking at a seminar on ‘Voting is my right’ jointly organized by the District Administration, Information & Public Relation Department and Government Arts & Science College, at the college premises, in Karwar, on 7th March Wednesday.

She said to students that it was every eligible voters’ duty to cast his/her vote.

She further noted that in the world, the highest number of youths are in India. Hence, youths should pledge to cast their votes and should become a model for others by exercising their franchise.

College Prof Venkatagiri in his address said, there are more than 85 crore voters in the country. India has the biggest democracy in the world, he said.
