Karwar: A district correspondent of a TV news channel died on Sunday early morning  after the bike he was travelling on lost control and rammed into a tree near Hangal in Haveri district.

The accident took place when the victim, Mounesh Potturaj was returning home to Hangal, after covering the news of the state convention 'Our constitution our pride' which was held in Sirsi on Saturday.

According to the police, the accident occurred late Saturday night when the bike turned on a sharp curve and slammed into the tree

Alerted by locals, Hangal police rushed to the spot and conducted necessary investigations and a case has been filed.

Maunesh is said to have been a down-to-earth person and reporter serving for State Kannada news channel 'Suddi Tv' as a district correspondent of Uttara Kannada district.
