Sullia: A tragic incident occurred at a college here where a student attempted committing suicide after stabbing a girl to death on 20th February, Tuesday.
The accused has been identified as Karthik, a B.Sc student at NMC College in Sullia.
According to sources, Karthik was in love with the deceased girl Akshata who was his classmate. However, when she rejected his love proposal, Karthik could not handle it and stabbed her to death.
Akshata died on spot after which Karthik attempted to end his own life by slitting his wrist. However, the police arrived at the spot and he was hospitalised.
A case has been registered at Sullia police station.
