Mangalore: A 6-year-old student was accidentally crushed to death after coming underneath the wheels of a school bus while returning to the home after finishing school. The incident happened in Sullia, near Mangalore of Dakshina Kannada district.

The deceased student has been identified as Agnya Balauju, a student of class-1.

According to the sources, the accident happened when Agnya came out of a school bus and then remembered that she had left her lunch box in the bus. She voiced her fellow students in the bus to let anyone pass her lunch box from the window. Unaware of this, the driver moved the bus, which as a result, Agnya standing in front of the bus came underneath the wheels, sustaining severe injuries.

She was then immediately rushed to one of the hospitals in Sullia and for the advanced treatment, she was later shifted to Mangalore hospital. But sadly, unable to bear the pain, breathed her last in the hospital.

It is said that the bus had no conductor to manage the students. A case has been registered in this regard and further investigations are on.
