Mangaluru: The City police Commissioner T R Suresh has been chosen for the coveted President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service which is annually awarded during Independence Day and Republic Day to individuals in the police service and security organizations for their service.
The Mangaluru city police commissioner will be receiving the prestigious medal on 26th January, Friday. IPS T R Suresh is a native of Shivamogga and holds an MBA degree from the University of Mysuru.
After inducting into IPS in 2003, Suresh has served in various positions at various places including Vijaypura, Bagalkot, Uttar Kannada, Mysuru, Tumakuru, Belagavi, Kodagu, Bagalkot, Raichur, Bengaluru, Hubballi and Dharwad before. Finally being transferred here to Mangaluru.
Suresh has vast experience in field and has managed to reduce the crime rate in the city and maintain a peaceful environment even after various attempts by certain anti-social elements to disrupt harmony in the recent past.
Head constable of Panambur police station Kamalaksha has also been chosen for the Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
