Bhatkal: Majlise Islah wa Tanzeem, Bhatkal's century-old, prominent social organization, has submitted a memorandum to the Bhatkal Municipal Chief Officer, requesting the immediate commencement of a cleaning campaign around the Eidgah maidan in preparation for the Eid-ul-Fitr festival. The Tanzeem delegation, emphasizing the urgency of a cleanliness drive, advocated for comprehensive cleaning efforts within the Eidgah and critical areas of Bhatkal.

Led by General Secretary Abdul Raqib MJ Nadvi, the delegation, in discussions with Municipal Chief Officer Shivanand Aloor, highlighted concerns with only two or three days remaining until Eid-ul-Fitr. They reported violations of the Eidgah's sanctity due to  unauthorized stalls abutting the Eidgah's walls, and associated public defecation and garbage accumulation.

The delegation stressed the need for immediate area clean-up around the Eidgah, legal action against those littering or illegally squatting, and the implementation of emergency cleaning measures throughout Bhatkal. This is in anticipation of the Eid procession from the Jamia Masjid to the Eidgah, urging immediate action.

Additionally, the Tanzeem delegation expressed concerns over uncleaned city drains ahead of the expected monsoon, warning of potential flooding and the adverse impacts on local businesses and infrastructure. They called for prompt drain cleaning and sewage system repairs to mitigate these risks.

Jilani Shabandri, Mohammad Hussain Muallim, KM Ashfaq, and others were also present in the delegation.
