Udupi: A teacher was convicted and sentenced to seven years imprisonment by the special POCSO Court of Udupi district on 19th February, Monday for allegedly harassing a girl student four years ago.
The accused Keerthi Kumar was the headmaster of a school in Trasi and a case was been filed against him at Gangolli police station accusing him of sexual assault on a girl student in 2014.
According to sources, Keerthi had misused his power as a headmaster and sexually harassed a girl student studying in seventh grade of the same school.
However, he was sentenced to seven years imprisonment and a fine by Justice Venkatesh Naik of the special POCSO court on Monday. The case was argued by the special district government prosecutor Vasu Poojary.
