Teakwood stash seized from house in Mundgod

Mundgod:  Katur forest officials on Monday have seized teakwood worth Rs 70,000 illegally stored in a home belonging to Suresh Lokappa Shiggaon, in Nagnur village, in the taluk.

Katur Range Forest Officer K Mahesh said, a seven CFT teakwood has been seized from the backyard of Suresh’s house and case has been registered.

It shall be remembered that four days earlier, forest officials had seized Rs 2.5 lakh worth teakwood illegally stored in a house from the same village and had arrested two persons in this regard.
