Ankola: A bike rider was killed on the spot, while pillon sustained critical injuries after the bike in which they were traveling in had an head-on collision with a passenger tempo in a tragedy that happened on Harwada cross NH66 in Ankola taluk on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased is identified as Karthik Durgekar, aged 28, a resident of Harwada, while the injured is Vikranth.

Sources informed that the accident happened when the bike was heading to Karwar from Harwada, while the tempo was in the opposite direction. The impact of collision was such horrific that the rider succumbed to the injuries on the spot. The critically injured pillion has been shifted to Karwar district hospital after giving initial treatments at Ankola govt hospital.

A case stands registered in Ankola police station.
