Bhatkal: Thieves broke into a hotel in Mankuli, damaging the entrance door, and resorted to stealing cigarette packets after finding a minimal amount of cash. The incident occurred at the Halli mane hotel between Monday and Tuesday night, and CCTV cameras captured the entire event.

The perpetrators began by tampering with the hotel's CCTV system, cutting the wires of the camera positioned in front of the hotel. They then redirected the camera away from the cash counter, ensuring their actions were not recorded by the adjacent CCTV camera. Subsequently, they proceeded to steal items from the premises.

However, much to the thieves' disappointment, they discovered a minimal amount of cash within the hotel. In addition to pocketing a small sum of money, they made off with cigarette packets valued at over a thousand rupees.

Bhatkal police rushed to the spot and conducted an inspection.
