Tirthahalli: Three Boys Drown in Tunga River

Tirthahalli : Three teenage boys lost their lives in a tragic incident as they drowned in the Tunga River located in Tirthahalli town, within Shivamogga district, on the evening of April 1.

Identified as Mohid Iyan, Samar, and Rafan, the trio, all classmates, had visited the Tunga River at Rama Mantap in the town after breaking their fast for Ramzan in the evening. Around 8 p.m., local authorities received distressing news of the boys' drowning.

Efforts were promptly initiated, with the assistance of local residents, to recover their bodies from the river, a task that lasted until 11 p.m. The riverbank witnessed a gathering of hundreds of individuals as the bodies were retrieved and later transported to the government hospital in the town.

Tirthahalli Police have initiated proceedings by registering an unnatural death report in connection with the tragic incident.
