Yellapur: At least one person was killed, while three others sustained grievous injuries after a tractor in which they were traveling in got toppled on Arabail ghat in the taluk on 12th March, Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Shivu, a resident of Hubballi. The injured trio was Devendrappa Gurappa Dandina (32), Shekappa Palye (52) and Manjunath Chandrappa Chalavadi (26). All are said to be the residents of Hubballi.

Reports from Yellapur said that the accident took place when a tractor along with trolley filled with few people and some construction equipment was made to transport to Gullapur for a construction work. The driver lost the control over the vehicle while taking a narrow curve on Arabail ghat, causing the tractor to topple and fall into a pit.

The injured were immediately rushed to Hubballi hospital for advanced treatment after getting initial treatments done at Gullapur hospital.

A case has been registered and police are conducting the further investigations.
