Bhatkal: Tragically, a person, feeling disrespected due to a minor altercation, took his own life by hanging in a house located in Hasrolli, within the jurisdiction of Hadvalli Gram Panchayat, under Bhatkal taluk. The incident came to light on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Maruti Nagappa Naik (63), a retired bank worker and a resident of Mankuli in Bhatkal.
It is reported that around five o'clock on Wednesday evening, Maruti Naik's bike accidentally collided with an auto-rickshaw passing in front of him, resulting in the police impounding his bike. Following the police action, a heated argument ensued between Maruti and the town PSI, which appeared to have deeply affected him.
In a tragic turn of events, Maruti Naik took the altercation to heart and subsequently went to his former residence in Hasrolli, where he committed suicide by hanging himself.
Maruti Naik leaves behind a wife, a son, and a daughter. Notably, although the family resided in Mankuli, Maruti Naik chose to end his life at his former home in Hasrolli.
In response to this incident, a case has been filed at the Bhatkal Rural Police Station against the Bhatkal town PSI.
