Bhatkal: IGP Western Range Arun Chakravarthy has warned of stern action against those trying to create problems during the polls.

He has directed the sector officials to be on their toes and foil bids aimed at creating tension. Officials have to act spontaneously if they get information on the tension and take immediate action, he said.

He noted this while speaking at the police officials meeting of Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts at Murdeshwar.

There are 1,434 polling booths in district and it has been distributed between 145 sector officials. Each booth will be headed by an ASI or head constable and they have eben given poll training, he said.

He also informed on the immediate steps to be taken during emergencies.
