Kumta: Both the riders were injured severely after their bikes had a head-on collision with each other in the accident that happened near Kodkani cross in Mirzan of Kumta taluk on the night of 26th June, Tuesday.

One among the injured has been shifted to Manipal hospital as he was reported serious, while another was taken to Honnavar hospital. Both were given initial treatments at Kumta government hospital.

Reports said that the accident happened when one of the bikes was heading towards Kumta from Ankola, while another was in the opposite direction.

The injured victims have been identified as Guru Harikantra of Ankola and Vivek Patgar of Mirzan. Guru was rushed to Manipal as he sustained severe head injuries, while Vivek too received multiple injuries and was taken to Honnavar hospital for advanced treatment.

A case stands registered in Kumta police station.
