Two-day workshop on "Computer Network Simulation using NS2" held at AITM, Bhatkal

Bhatkal: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Anjuman Institute of Technology & Management (AITM) organized a Two-day Workshop on "Computer Network Simulation using NS2" on 11th and 12th of March, 2018. Prof. Siddu Biradar from DBIT Bengaluru was the resource person for the workshop. Around 70 participants from Kumta and Karwar including students and faculties of AITM and Polytechnic Colleges, took part in the workshop. 

The inaugural ceremony of the workshop was held on 11th March, Sunday, which was presided by the Principal of AITM, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Bhavikatti. Dr. Rajkumar, HOD of E&C Department welcomed the gathering. On the occasion, 'Technovate' newsletter was released and the students who have scored highest marks in University exams were felicitated. Vice Principal Prof. H. M. Phalachandra and Director of Research Dr. H. Udaya Prasanna graced the occasion. The vote of thanks was delivered by Gouri Balise.

Following the inaugural, the participants were given hands-on experience on the state of the art simulators and major components of NS2 for two days.

The aim of the workshop was to familiarize the participants with the state of the art simulators and major components of NS2. Introduction to writing, building and running a simple point-to-point network script too was elaborated in the session. Some more complex topologies including wired and wireless networks were simulated. Tracing, debugging and result analysis was also a part of the workshop.

The workshop ended with a valedictory ceremony on 12th March, Monday, in which the certificates were distributed to the participants. 

The master of ceremony was handled by Preeti Shanbhag and Shruti Jannu of 8th sem ECE.
