Mangaluru: Tragedy befell upon two youngsters who had come to have fun during holidays in Netravati rive in Thumbay, Bantawal taluk, as they were washed away while swimming.

 The deceased have been identified as Sawad (30) s/o Sulaiman, a resident of Thumbay and Ramlan (31) s/o Ibrahim, a resident of Maripall.

According to sources, the duo was here along with seven other friends to have fun swimming at the river on Sunday holiday. However, Sawad and Ramlan got washed away by strong currents.

Both the bodies has been retrieved and sent for post-mortem.

A case has been registered at Bantwal rural police station.
