Udupi Adventure fest logo released by Minister Madhwaraj

Udupi: The official logo of Udupi Adventure Festival and Udupi Parba was released by District In-Charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj here in Udupi. Addressing the event, he said that the tourism festival in the district will be launched on a larger scale in the district.

Speaking to media persons, the minister said Udupi Adventure Festival will be organized by General Thimmayya National Academy of Adventure, in association with Udupi district administration, Tourism Department, Youth Empowerment and Sports Department, Nirmiti Kendra and Malpe Beach Development Committee.

The Udupi Parba and Udupi adventure festival will be organized for three days from December 29 to 31. General Thimmayya National Academy of Adventure will organize national-level swimming in the sea, speed wall climbing, marathon, cycling, skateboarding and other adventure sports.

The festivals are being organized to promote tourism in the district. To introduce the traditional coastal cuisine, food stalls will be set up at Udupi Parba. An attractive fireworks display will be held on a concluding day. Live show by popular drummer Sivamani will be organized on December 29 at 8 pm at the Malpe Beach. Apart from this, a magic show by Prahlad Acharya, musical night, Alva’s cultural festival, Dog Show, Photography contest, Drawing and Cartoon contest, Wine Festival, Scuba Diving Festival will also be held.

The minister said for the first time in the history of Udupi district, the First National Junior Open Water Swimming Championship will be held on December 30 and 31 at the Malpe Beach.

The championship is being organized by the Karnataka Swimming Association and Swimming Federation of India in Association with the Udupi District Administration. The National level winners will be qualifying for the World Junior Open Water Swimming Championship which will be held in 2018.
