Kundapur: Two people died and two others suffered injuries when the car in which they were travelling in hit a lorry at NH-66 at Basrur Murukai in Kota in Kundapur on Tuesday.

According to police, the deceased have been identified as Girija, aged 56 years and Avinash, aged 27 years. The driver drove the car recklessly and took a right turn at the divider while travelling towards Kota and hit the lorry which was plying towards Udupi.

A case has been registered in Kota police station.
