Udupi: Three persons, who allegedly tried to steal cattle from Shirur Math, located in Hariadka in Udupi district, were caught red-handed by math people and handed over to the police.
It is said that the accused Vijay Shetty, Jaber, and Ankaar were roaming suspiciously around the math in the evening hours. Noticed this by swami's driver, stopped them asking for the reason to walk around the math, which as a result all three fearing the incident started running away from the spot. Alerted this by other members of the math, immediately followed the three persons and were successful in chasing them.
During the investigation, they confessed that they were making a plan to steal cattle which was tied in the math campus. They were later handed over to police.
The math people allege that an attempt to steal cattle from math was also reported earlier.
