Udupi: Theft in Temple - valuables worth 2 lakhs stolen

Udupi: Thieves broke into the Mahalingeshwar temple, which is one among the historical temples in Basrur, and made away with valuables worth of two lakh rupees.

According to the reports, thieves broke into the temple in the midnight of Sunday by breaking the rear door. The thieves before stealing the valuables, locked the door of the temple priest from outside to make sure that they won't get caught. They ran away from the temple when the burglar alarm started ringing its siren. However, within the fraction of seconds, the thieves made away with silver ornaments and others valuables which estimated approximately of two lakh rupees.

On receiving the information, Kandlur police rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary investigations. Police have also taken the CCTV footage of the temple.

The further investigations are being processed.
