Udupi: Two youths were reportedly killed on the spot after a bike in which they were riding was rammed by a speeding truck near Puttage region in Hireadaka in Udupi district.

The deceased were identified as Varun Rao (22) and Vishwas Ballal (21).

It is reported that the accident took place when the speedy truck hit their bike when the duo was enroute to Udupi from Paradur. Simultaneously, at this moment, a passenger bus moving towards Hebri too lost the control and fell into a ditch. The truck which hit the bike fled the scene fearing the incident.

A case has been registered and further investigations are carried on.
