Unscientific road work poses danger to commuters in Ankola

Ankola: Road from national highway to Purlakkibena in the taluk has caused the citizens to face inconvenience due to unscientific laying.

The residents of Purlakkibena alleged that IRB  company which has been constructing the quadrilateral national highway, has laid the connecting road unscientifically which is posing danger to commuters.

Submitting a memorandum to the tahsildar, they said, immediate action should be taken to re-lay the road. The road adjacent to Peacock Hotel was not constructed properly. Accidents are reported on the spot due to unscientific road work.

College students and local residents use the road to reach the town every day.

They said appeals were made many times to the IRB company. But corrective action was not taken.

Therefore, the people continued to suffer on this stretch, they said. Residents N L Nayak, R G Gundi, Ganapati Madiwal, B D Naik, and others were present while submitting the memorandum.
