LUCKNOW/MATHURA: The death toll in the storm that hit parts of UP on Wednesday night has risen to 18, an official said on Thursday as the Met office issued another bad weather alert for the state.
Five deaths were reported in Etawah, three each in Mathura, Aligarh and Agra, two in Firozabad and one each in Hathras and Kanpur Dehat last night, a spokesperson said. A weather department spokesman has warned of more thunderstorms accompanied by winds of up to 70 kmph on May 12 and 13 at isolated places in eastern UP.
