Kadaba: A railway officer was stomped to death by a wild elephant while another sustained injuries at Kombaru here on 5th March, Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Ranjith (52yrs), a resident of Madhurai.
According to sources, three railway labourers Ranjith, Lakshman and Shanmugani had arrived here for the railway bridge works at Anekal in Kombaru village.
However, unaware of what would happen, they had chose to sleep outside the shed as it was too hot inside.
During the night, they were attacked by a wild elephant and Ranjith lost his life as he was stomped by it. Lakshman on other hand sustained injuries, while Shanmugani manahed to escape.
Lakshman was admitted to Kadaba Government Hospital.
A case has been registered at Kadaba police station and the police are investigating the case.
