Bhatkal: The body of a 24-Year-Old girl was recovered from the Chitrapur railway track in Shirali in the taluk, which is reported to be as the suicide. The exact reason behind taking this extreme step is yet to be ascertained.
The victim is identified as Shobha Mahadevi Naik, a resident of the Chitrapur village in Shirali.
According to the family members, Shobha was missing from home since 8 PM on Tuesday, after which they started searching for her until night 12 AM. They also enquired about her presence their relatives but was reported missing. But sadly, the body of Shobha was traced on a railway track which is near to her house.
It is said that Shobha died after she came underneath the wheels of Delhi-Kerala Mangala express train in the midnight at around 1 AM. The train driver also informed that he observed a woman walking on the track at 1 AM and attempted to save her by honking, but she wasn't moving off the track, which finally resulted in her death.
Shobha was employed as a computer teacher in St.Thomas school in Shirali and is survived with father and her brother as her mother was expired earlier. Two of her elder sisters are married.
A case has been registered in Bhatkal rural police station and further investigations are on.
