Mundgod: A 18-Year-Old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping into an open well here at Kanchikoppa village in the taluk on Saturday, 30th December.

The victim has been identified as Poornima Satish Naik, a resident of Kanchikoppa village.

Sources informed that, she jumped into an open well located near the nearby field in the region. The reason behind taking this extreme step is yet to be ascertained.

A case has been registered in Mundgod police station and further investigations are on.
