Beltangady: In a strange incident a woman chose to end her life  by consuming poison in front of a BJP leader’s house on March 6, Tuesday.

The deceased woman has been identified as Lakshmi, a resident of the taluk.

According to sources, the woman arrived at the front gate of BJP leader Obbayya Gowda’s house at late night on Tuesday. She then consumed poison and ended her life.

The reason why she had to take such a extreme step and why she had chose to do it outside Gowda’s house is yet to be known.

A case has been registered at Dharmasthala police station and the police are investigating the case.
