Udupi: A woman from Maharashtra, who was found loitering near a secluded spot in Alevoor - Chithpady, was rescued by an alert social worker of Udupi.
The woman identified as Meena (26) hails from Maharashtra. She was all alone and was walking on the street in the midnight as she was helpless and was unable to find a shelter for herself.
Much detail about her and her family is not known yet and it is also not known as to why and how she came from Maharashtra to Udupi, all alone.
Social activist Vishu Shetty informed Udupi town police upon spotting the woman in a helpless situation and with the help of police he rescued her. She was shifted to Sakhi - One Stop Centre.
Marne Gram Panchayat member Prajwal Hegde and woman police constable Roopa assisted the social worker Vishu Shetty in shifting her to the Centre.
