Udupi: A 52-year-old woman was murdered by her alcoholic husband at Heroor in Brahmavar on Monday. 

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Girija Poojarthy.

She was in her daughter’s house, when her husband Raju Poojary forcibly took her to a house in Heroor on a motorbike. The daughter, who waited her mother to return, called her mother to know why she was late.

The body of the victim was found near the house with severe injures on the head and all over her body. It is suspected that the accused had used sharp weapon to assault the deceased.

A case is registered in the Brahmavar police station.
