Bhatkal: Muttalli school celebrates 70th annual cultural meet with grandeur

Bhatkal: The 70th Annual Cultural and Alumni Meet of Muttalli School was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The event was inaugurated by Jattappa Naik, the first student of the school.

Addressing the gathering, alumnus and Byndoor Zonal Education Officer Nagesh Naik emphasized the responsibility of former students in supporting quality education for current students. He urged the community to contribute to the school's progress.

M.N. Naik, President of the Government Employees’ Association, praised the faculty for organizing such a grand celebration after decades. He stressed the importance of cultural values and collective efforts to uplift the school.

Physical Education Inspector Prakash Shirali expressed concern over the preference for private schools despite government schools offering quality education. He urged parents to enroll their children in government schools to ensure their sustainability.

A grand procession featuring cultural performances like Gondar dance, tiger dance, and drum beats was carried out from Mood Bhatkal Bypass to the school. The event also honored retired teachers, distinguished alumni, and donors.

The program was presided over by Muttalli Gram Panchayat President Rajani Naik, with several dignitaries in attendance.

The event began with a welcome speech by Headmistress Ganga Mogera, while teacher Latha Naik read the report, and teacher Gajanan Naik delivered the vote of thanks. The cultural segment featured performances by Anganwadi children and school students, including the highlight 'Navashakti Vaibhav' by the schoolgirls.
