Karnataka SIR: Over 1.07 crore electors classified under ASDDO categories

Bengaluru: More than 1.07 crore electors have been marked under the ASDDO category during the ongoing SIR of electoral rolls in Karnataka, officials said on Wednesday.

As on August 16, there were 5,54,32,314 electors in the electoral roll, and the same number of enumeration forms (EFs) were printed and distributed, officials said.

The house-to-house enumeration and digitisation period was from June 30 to August 17, officials said.

According to a statement issued by the office of Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer V Anbukkumar, of the total EFs, 5,54,32,314 or 100 per cent were digitised. A total of 1,07,96,415 electors (19.48 per cent) were marked as Absent, Shifted, Duplicate, Dead and Others (ASDDO).

In Bangalore Urban district alone, out of 40,21,039 total electors -- over 17.17 lakh have been marked as ASDDO, in BBMP (North) it is over 10.52 lakh, in BBMP (Central) it is about 8.60 lakh and in BBMP (South) it is about 10.58 lakh, the data showed.

In Bengaluru Urban district, over 17.17 lakh of the 40.21 lakh electors have been marked under the ASDDO category while the number of electors marked under the ASDDO category stands at 10.52 lakh in BBMP North, 8.60 lakh in BBMP Central and 10.58 lakh in BBMP South, the data showed.

Of those marked under ASDDO, 15,17,056 (2.74 per cent) were categorised as untraceable or absent, 65,45,721 (11.81 per cent) as permanently shifted, 16,39,871 (2.96 per cent) as death electors, 7,09,875 (1.28 per cent) as already enrolled and 3,83,892 (0.69 per cent) under others, it said.

A total of 7,13,077 EFs or 1.29 per cent were submitted online by electors, the data said.

The list of ASDDO electors has been delivered to political parties and is also available with the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for verification, officials said.

Facilities were available with the BLOs and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) for electors seeking to roll back their EFs if they were wrongly marked as ASDDO, they said.

The list of ASDDO (UEF) electors under SIR-2026 has been made available on the Chief Electoral Officer's website.

In BBMP/GBA areas, 10 lakh Form 6 applications have been printed and distributed to the concerned EROs for those who wish to apply, it added.
