Mangaluru: Madhu Bangarappa Vows No Backlogs in Education Department

 Mangaluru: Minister of School Education and Literacy, Madhu Bangarappa, asserted his commitment to avoid any backlogs in his department. With the responsibility of overseeing more than 75,000 schools and colleges catering to over 1.2 crore students and addressing the concerns of over two crore parents, the minister acknowledged the challenging nature of his role.

He was addresing at the annual meet and Excellence Award ceremony organized by the Muslim Educational Institutions Federation (MEIF) of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on Saturday.

He pledged to make timely decisions on all significant matters, aiming to maintain efficiency and prevent delays within the department. He highlighted the government's dedication to elevate the coastal region to the forefront in various aspects, including religion, education, and development.

Health Minister and District Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao praised the substantial contributions of minority education institutions, which have positioned the district as a role model for the entire state. He assured that the government has directed the police to protect students from communal incidents and drugs, urging them to stop organizations from taking the law into their hands.

During the event, Speaker UT Khader conveyed his perspective on true patriotism. He highlighted that merely speaking in front of an audience does not define nationalism; instead, he emphasized that educating children from underprivileged backgrounds is the real essence of patriotism and contributes to the nation's progress.'

Addressing the gathering, Syed Beary, honorary advisor of MEIF said the crucial role of education in addressing societal issues and empowering communities. Out of the 175 schools affiliated with MEIF, around 100 schools are facing challenges in providing quality education to approximately 60,000 students. To improve the learning environment and infrastructure, he appealed to the Karnataka state government for a one-time grant of ₹100 crores.
