11.22 lakh voter enumeration forms digitised in Uttara Kannada: DC

Karwar: As part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls for 2026, authorities in Karnataka's Uttara Kannada district have digitised 1,122,276 voter enumeration forms, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner (DC) K. Lakshmi Priya said.

The DC said the district has a total of 1,230,037 registered voters, and enumeration forms have been distributed to every elector as part of the revision exercise.

During the ongoing door-to-door verification drive, election officials have identified a total of 106,570 voter records requiring further action. These include 45,271 cases of permanent migration, 43,933 deceased voters, and 12,360 instances of duplicate entries, she said.

The SIR exercise is being carried out to update and purify the electoral rolls ahead of future elections by ensuring that the voter list remains accurate and up to date.
