Bhatkal: To mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Karnataka state government has organised a Gandhi jatha, which entered into Bhatkal town on Sunday.
Sajid Mulla, Bhatkal Assistant commissioner, welcomed the jatha on behalf of the Taluka Administration at Shamshuddin Circle here. Speaking on the occasion, he said the ideals and message of M.K. Gandhi were eternal. People should follow these ideals, he said.
The jatha comprises of Gandhi’s messages, tableaux related to him. His favourite bhajans were also played.
Several officials and school children were apart of the Jatha.
