Karwar: Indian Coast Guards rescued 17 fishermen here on Wednesday. Their fishermen landed in danger after water entered their fishing boat.

The boat ‘Yashvardhan’ owned by Rajesh Kudtalkar of Karwar had ventured into the sea for fishing.

Develops a hole

When it was ten nautical miles away from Karwar shore, the boat developed a hole at the bottom and the water started gushing in. This made the fishermen panic.

The Coast Guards, who received information on the incident, from other local fishermen, rushed to the spot with their ‘Interceptor Boat C-155’ and brought the fishermen to safety.

The damaged boat was also brought to the port using another boat called Amrut.
