Bhatkal: A mother and her three-month-old daughter passed away in an accident which took place at Otinani National Highway near Byndoor of Udupi district. Father and a four-year-old son who were seriously injured in the same accident were admitted to Kundapur and Udupi hospitals. The accident took place on Sunday evening when all the people of same family were travelling from Honnaver to Kundapur, when their car collided with a speedy truck in Otinani.

The deceased had been identified as Bibi Sara (25) from Kasargod Tonga of Honnaver taluka and her three-month-old daughter Bibi Fathima. The deceased woman’s husband Salman Koya (34) and their four-year-old son Raziq were seriously injured in the accident. Salman is said to be admitted in Kundapur Hospital, whereas, Raziq who is in a very critical condition, is admitted to a private hospital in Udupi.

It is said that Salam was taking his wife and their new born daughter to his home in Kundapur for the first time after her delivery when they met with an accident.

The case has been registered at Byndoor Police station and police is investigating the case.
