Karwar: Two cases of house thefts were reported in Karwar recently, in which thieves made away with cash and gold from both the houses.

In the first incident, thieves entered the house at KHB Colony in Karwar by breaking open the door and made away with Rs 6,000 cash kept in the cupboard and ornaments including a gold chain and rings. The house belonging to Sarala Surangekar was locked for the past one week and the thieves took advantage of it. 

In the second incident, the house of Pandurang Sawant of Bandishitta was burgled. Thieves made away with Rs 8,000 and ornaments from this house also. None were in the house when the theft took place. In the morning, the neighbours grew suspicious as the door was found open. They informed the concerned and the theft came to the fore.
