Development of the country is the need of the hour. However, one should not harm others for their selfishness, he added.

He said, according to the research of many scientists, flora, fauna and people of the district have already suffered many problems and are in grave tension about their future. The government should provide compensation for the displaced of Seabird Naval Base project and distribute title deeds for the forest dwellers at the earliest, he demanded.
‘Creating rift’
The litterateur said that many are trying to divide the society by various ways and means. However, all should stand together and lead healthy lives. People should not lend their ears to the people, who try to create the rift between different religions and communities. As all the religions spread a message of love, humanity and brotherhood among each other, and never asked people to hate someone, there is a need for understanding the themes of all religions, he added.
“Religious problems are being created in the name of saffron and green coloured themes.
No colours
indicate none. As white colour is the origin of all colours, and which indicates peace, people should lead peaceful lives, without creating walls between people of different classes, communities and religions,” he stated.
Speaking after inaugurating the book stalls, Taluk Panchayat President Bhavya Shetty said, only human beings can live with literature, which aims to build a healthy society, where one can live peacefully. However, it is a matter of concern that this is not possible in politics. Because politicians will get ample opportunities, with increasing rifts in society, she added.
