Mundgod: Unable to bear the debt pressure of the money taken for the treatment of wife, man under depression committed suicide by consuming poisonous chemical here at Bedskao panchayat limits in the taluk.

The deceased is Krishna Siddi (46).

Sources said, Krishna had large amount of debt under him as he had taken it for the treatment of his ill wife. Even after spending a lot of money on her treatment, wife wasn't able to recover from her illness. This made Krishna undergo depression and took this extreme step to end the life.

According to the case filed by deceased's relative Immanuel Siddi, Krishna was rushed to Sirsi hospital soon after he consumed poison. But unfortunately he breathed last on the way.

A case has been registered in Mundgod police station.
