Mangaluru: BJP activists hurls eggs on Ramya's car

Mangaluru: A group of BJP activists gathered at Mangaluru international airport and at Kenjaru Circle to protest against actress turned politician Ramya. Furious over her statements praising Pak, there is a statewide agitations especially from BJP.

Recently, when the actress was in Mangaluru on 25th August evening the activist of BJP Youth Morcha, in protest of her statements, hurled eggs on her car.

BJP workers who congregated near Kenjaru circle held a protest condemning the statement made by Ramya where she praised the Pakistani's hospitality saying that they are similar to Indians in that matter. The protestors also demonstrated black flags.

Police resorted to mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd and 5 persons were detained at the airport while 6 were held at the Circle. The police provided protection to her and paved way for her to move to the car.

Ramya was seen outside the airport with U T Ifthikar and Mithun Rai. She was attending a Shri Krishnatashami programme. A huge police bandobast was seen outside the Airport.

Ramya makes her stance clear 

Making her stance clear, she tweeted  that she will stick to her statement and not apologise,"When I landed in Mangalore, eggs were hurled at me, black flags shown; I won't take my words back," says her tweet.

Mangaluru is like heaven, says Ramya

Ramya was at Unity hospital in city to see someone. After her visit, she interacted with the reporters and said “Mangaluru is a good place. It is like heaven. There are good people in Mangaluru. I never called Mangaluru hell as reported in some media. It was misquoted.”

“ Why Should I call Mangaluru hell. I love Mangaluru so much that I started my election campaign from here” she said.

Speaking on her comment on Pakistan, she said: “I only spoke about my experiences in Pakistan. Media misquoted my statement. I will fight the sedition charges in the court. There can be competition among you (media). But media should not twist the statements.”
