Bhatkal: All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) president Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani and general secretary Maulana Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi visited Bhatkal, where they held a meeting with prominent community members and representatives of Gulf-based and neighbouring-area jamaats.
Addressing the gathering, Maulana Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi outlined the key objectives of the Muslim Personal Law Board as Tahaffuz-e-Shariat (protection of Sharia), Tafheem-e-Shariat (understanding of Sharia) and Tanfeez-e-Shariat (implementation of Sharia).
He stressed the need to create greater awareness about the teachings and principles of Sharia among Muslims, particularly the younger generation and women, as well as society at large. He said that alongside protecting and explaining Sharia, efforts were also needed to encourage Muslims to practise its teachings in their personal and social lives.
Mujaddidi also spoke about various activities and initiatives being undertaken by the Muslim Personal Law Board and urged representatives of community organisations and jamaats present at the meeting to extend their cooperation in furthering the objectives of the Board.
The meeting was presided over by AIMPLB president Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani. AIMPLB members from Bhatkal, including Maulana Ilyas Jakati Nadwi, Maulvi Abdul Aleem Qasmi, Maulana Maqbool Kobatte Nadwi and Atiqur Rahman Muniri, were also present.
