Bhatkal: Sky Breezers defeated United Brothers by 8 wickets in the final of Amin Saifullah Bhatkal Cricket League 4 (BCL-4) which was being organised by Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation.
The 20 days long tournament was played here at Taluka stadium generally known as YMSA ground in Nawayath colony, Bhatkal.
United Bhatkal, winning the toss, opted to bat first and put up an inning score of 146 runs with fall of 9 wickets in limited 20 overs. In reply, Sky Breezers managed to bang 148 runs in 16.5 overs with fall of just 2 wickets and registered the championship title with their name in fourth edition of BCL.
The winners, Sky Breezers received BCL Trophy and a cash reward of 66,666/- rupees while the runners up United Bhatkal received Rs 44,444 and a trophy.
Chandrahas Moger (399 runs & 9 wickets) of Sky Breezers was awarded with Player of the Tournament, while Shekar Naik (52 runs & 2 wickets) from sky breezers was adjudged Man of the Match.
Purple cap went to Imran Kundunguda of United Bhatkal with 16 wickets, while Orange cap was occupied by Chandrahas Moger of Sky Breezers by scoring 399 runs.
Murdeshwar Brothers were awarded with best discipline team.
Chief guest of event was President of Indian Nawayath Forum, Jukaku Abdul Majeed, while Guest of honour was President of Murdeshwar Jamaat ul Muslimeen Amin Saifullah, who was also the title sponsor of the tournament.
Total 12 teams from Bhatkal have participated in this T20 tournament.
The closing ceremony of the tournament began with the recitation of versus from holy Quran by Yahya Naseef Khalifa while Ex General secretary of BMYF Maulana Irfan Nadvi welcomed the guests and the audience.
The event was presided by BMYF president Imtiyaz Udyawar and BMYF executive Mubasshir Hallare compered and delivered vote of the thanks
