Bhatkal: Mr. Siddique Ismail was selected for the position of General Secretary of one of the oldest educational institution in the Taluk, Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen (AHM).

Interacting with the media, he said that Anjuman will focus on bettering the educational standards in its schools and colleges. Admitting the fact that the students of Anjuman have very low affinity towards the regional language Kannada, efforts will be made to start Kannada language classes by the language experts, he said.

He said that Anjuman is not only an educational institution, but it has become a movement in itself because of its educational achievements.

Speaking of its existence, he said, inspired by the Sir Syed Ahmed Khan movement, AHM was started a century ago . Since then, it has rendered its service in the field of education to every section of the society without any discrimination.

Presently, Anjuman has 20 educational institutions in Bhatkal where 7000 students are gaining education. The alumnis of the institute have made the institution proud on both national and international levels. Anjuman has also started an ideal education system for women.

However, the thing to be noted is that the post of the general secretary was vacant because of the sudden demise of previous general secretary Ansar Kashimji last week. Hence, Mr. Ismail Siddique was appointed for this post.
