Bhatkal: The annual social gathering for girls of New Shams School was celebrated on Sunday at Syed Ali Campus, Jamia Abad Road here at Bhatkal.

The most prestigious award of "Najm-e-Ikwan"  was awarded to Rabiya Maleeha D/o Muhammed Muqeem Usman Hallare (ICSE) and Nida Mohtesham D/o Mushtaq Mohtesham (KSEEB ).

The chief guest for the function was Mrs Qanita Ghani, M.J.P. Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh , while Mrs Farah Bilal Ruknuddin and Nazneen Bhalli were Guest of honours.

Mrs Sabiha Farooque Kowda, Former Principal of Shams English Medium School, Bhatkal presided over the function.

The program began with the recitation of verses from holy Quran by Aysha Seemi, Hamd by Rabiya Maleeha and Group, followed by the Naat by Khadija and Lubaba, Shams school anthem was sung by 9th standard girls, while Fathima Nida welcomed and Khatija Aina delivered vote of thanks. The program was compered by teachers Afifa and Tahseen.

On this occasion, meritorious students, cultural awardees, sports achivers were honoured with certificates and mementos.

Earlier, students performed fancy dress show and gathering concluded with entertainment program around at 6 PM.

School board member Nabira Madam, Principal Fahmida Khizer and many others were present.
