Karwar: “All government employees and officers must compulsarily attend the district-level Kannada Rajyotsava programme to be held on November 1”, directed Deputy Commissioner S S Nakul.
Speaking at a Rajyotsava preparatory meeting in Karwar on Tuesday, he said that government officers remaining absent for such programmes was not right.
“Do not embarrass us and at the same time get a notice at the last moment. Attendance list of the government employees must be submitted to me on November 1 evening”, he instructed.
The DC said that on that day at 8:00 am, the district in-charge minister will perform puja to the chariot of ‘Kannadambe’ at the DC office. Then, the procession will be flagged off. Tableaux of various departments will participate in the procession.
The departments were asked to take a special interest in designing and making unique tableaux and not just restrict themselves to tying flex to the vehicle.
The deputy commissioner asked all officers concerned to ensure that all government buildings and circles were decorated with lights. The district in-charge minister will hoist the flag at Police Parade Ground at sharp 9:00 am. This will be followed by a march past,
Rajyotsava address by the minister and cultural programmes by children.
The DC also asked the concerned to ensure that protocol was followed in inviting the guests for the programme.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer M Roshan, Additional Superintendent of Police Gopal Byakod and others were present.
